Happy 2011!
We are pleased to present an update for Jewish Foundation fund holders.
2010 Investment Returns. As you will see, each of our strategies outperformed their benchmarks which illustrates the outstanding oversight provided by our investment committee and consultant, Consulting Services Group. Special thanks to Charles Jalenak, investment committee chairman.

Guiding Document for Successor Advisors – Do the successor advisors to your fund understand your charitable priorities? The attached form will provide a way for you to document your preferences regarding the distribution of the assets in your fund after your death. I encourage you to spend a few moments filling out the attached form. You may return it to the JFOM office when completed.
Stock Contributions – Now may be a great time for you to contribute appreciated securities to your Donor Advised Fund! You can make the contribution today and at a later time (or whenever you are ready) recommend how those funds are to be disbursed to your favorite charities.
Camp Incentives – The word is out! JFOM in partnership with the Foundation for Jewish Camp and local donors Debra and Alex Saharovich and Barbara and Earl Magdovitz is offering 1st and 2nd year camp incentives for Memphis campers who are not presently attending a Jewish day school.
IRA Charitable Rollover – If you are age 70 ½ or older you can take advantage of the re-enacted provision allowing for tax-free charitable contributions from your retirement plan. Although you may not make contributions to your donor advised fund, you may want to consider this option to fulfill commitments to other qualified charities. Discuss this option with your professional advisor to determine if this gifting strategy makes sense for you.
As always, Jewish Foundation of Memphis leadership and staff are here to help you reach your charitable goals. Please feel free to contact us if we can be of assistance.
